Terms & Conditions
Last updated: August 2026
Welcome to the Ta' Pinu Pharmacy website. By accessing or using our website and online booking system, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our website.
About Us
Ta' Pinu Pharmacy is a licensed pharmacy operating in Malta. Our website provides information about our services and allows patients to book appointments online with our healthcare professionals.
Use of the Website
You agree to use our website only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not:
- Infringe the rights of any third party
- Restrict or inhibit the use and enjoyment of the website by any other person
- Interfere with or disrupt the website or servers
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the website
- Transmit any harmful, offensive, or unlawful material
Who Can Book
You need to be 18 or over to book an appointment on this website. Making a booking creates an agreement with us, and under Maltese law a person under 18 cannot enter into one on their own.
Booking for a child
A parent or legal guardian can book for a child of any age. Several of our clinics are for children. When you book for a child, you are the one agreeing to these terms, and by booking you confirm that you are the child's parent or guardian or otherwise have authority to make the booking and to give us the child's details.
The booking form requires an ID card number and will not accept a booking without one, so if the child does not have an ID card please call us on +356 2788 8128 and we will take the booking by phone. Please do not enter your own ID card number in place of the child's, because it then sits in the child's record.
Young people aged 14 to 17
Maltese law gives a person aged 14 or over the right to consent to, or refuse, their own medical care, where the healthcare professional treating them judges that they understand what is involved. Nothing in these terms takes that right away.
These terms decide only who may make a booking on this website, which is a separate question. A parent or guardian needs to make the booking. Consent to the care itself is a matter between the young person and the professional seeing them.
Online Booking System
Our online booking system allows you to schedule appointments with our healthcare professionals. By using this system, you agree to the following:
- You will provide accurate and complete personal information when making a booking.
- An ID card number is required to complete a booking. We use it to identify you correctly at the clinic and to keep your record separate from other patients with a similar name. If you do not have a Maltese ID card, please call us and we will book you by phone instead.
- For some ultrasound appointments you must choose the type of scan you are booking. If you are not sure which one you need, please call us rather than guessing, as booking the wrong scan may mean the appointment cannot go ahead.
- Booking will send you a confirmation by email, and we will send you email and SMS reminders before your appointment. These are service messages about your booking rather than marketing, so they are sent for every appointment.
- If you select a specific time slot, your appointment is booked as soon as you submit the form, and that slot is taken out of the calendar straight away. The confirmation email follows shortly afterwards. If it does not arrive, your appointment still stands, so please contact us and we will resend it rather than book again.
- If you join a waiting list, or ask to be told when new dates open, that is a request rather than a booking. We will contact you if a suitable slot becomes available.
- We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule appointments where necessary, and we will make reasonable efforts to notify you in advance.
- You are responsible for attending your appointment at the scheduled time. If you are unable to attend, please cancel or reschedule as early as possible so the slot can be offered to another patient.
Appointment Policies
Cancellations
You can cancel or reschedule your own appointment using the link in your confirmation email, up to 48 hours before the appointment time. Inside that 48-hour window the link will no longer work, and you will need to call us instead. Please cancel as early as you can so we can offer the slot to another patient.
No-shows
If you do not attend a booked appointment without notice, we may take this into account when managing future bookings. We understand that unforeseen circumstances arise and encourage you to contact us if you are unable to make your appointment.
Waiting List
If your preferred time is unavailable, you may join a waiting list. We will contact you if a suitable slot becomes available, but we cannot guarantee availability.
Medical Disclaimer
The information provided on this website is for general informational purposes only and should not be considered as medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical guidance. Our online booking system is a scheduling tool. Making a booking does not itself constitute medical advice or treatment, which begins when you are seen by the healthcare professional.
If you need urgent help
The booking system and the notes field are not monitored around the clock, and nothing you write there will be read immediately. If you have a medical emergency, call 112 or go to the nearest emergency department. Do not use this website to report an urgent medical problem.
Limitation of Liability
While we make every effort to ensure the information on our website is accurate and the booking system operates reliably, we do not guarantee that:
- The website will be available at all times without interruption
- The website will be free from errors or defects
- Information on the website is complete, accurate, or up to date at all times
Ta' Pinu Pharmacy shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential loss arising from the use of this website or the inability to use it, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded under Maltese law.
This section applies to the website and the booking system. It does not limit any duty owed to you in the course of the clinical care you receive at the pharmacy or the clinic, which is governed by the professional and legal obligations of the healthcare professional treating you.
If you are a consumer, you keep all the rights given to you by Maltese consumer law, including under the Consumer Affairs Act, and nothing here affects them.
Intellectual Property
All content on this website, including text, images, logos, and design elements, is the property of Ta' Pinu Pharmacy or its licensors and is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content from this website without our prior written permission.
Privacy & Data Protection
Your use of this website is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in accordance with GDPR and Maltese data protection law. Our Cookie Policy forms part of these Terms.
Complaints
If something goes wrong, please tell us. Contact the pharmacy using the details at the bottom of this page and we will look into it. Where we can, we will resolve it straight away. Otherwise we will acknowledge your complaint and tell you what happens next.
If your complaint concerns the clinical care you received from one of our visiting healthcare professionals, you can also raise it with the professional body that regulates them. If it concerns how we handled your personal data, you can complain to the Information and Data Protection Commissioner, whose details are in our Privacy Policy.
Refusing or Withdrawing Access
We may refuse or cancel a booking, or block access to the booking system, where someone repeatedly makes bookings they do not attend, submits false details, books slots they do not intend to use, or uses the site in a way that breaches the section on use of the website above. We will not do this without good reason, and it does not affect your ability to contact the pharmacy by phone or in person.
General
Severability. If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
No waiver. If we do not enforce a term straight away, that does not mean we have given up the right to enforce it later.
Events outside our control. We are not responsible for failing to provide the website or an appointment because of something outside our reasonable control, such as a power or network failure, severe weather, or the illness of a visiting healthcare professional. We will tell you as soon as we can and offer you another appointment.
Transfer. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to another business, for example if the pharmacy changes ownership. Your rights will not be reduced if we do.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the website after changes have been posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malta. Any disputes arising from the use of this website shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Maltese courts.
